The Somerville House Foundation has raised more than $17.5 million, since 1984, contributing over $9.5 million to the School. Gifts to the Foundation are used to build incredible facilities, support programs that otherwise would not be available and provide scholarships and bursaries for talented students.
As a registered charity, gifts directed to the Somerville House Foundation Building Fund; Scholarships & Bursaries Fund; and Cultural Fund, attract a tax deduction.
Donors who give more than $2,000 are invited to apply for Foundation Membership.
The Foundation partners with the School to provide exceptional learning opportunities, and to deliver programs, projects and infrastructure that have a lasting impact.
The Building Fund supports the School’s strong commitment to delivering a relevant, first-class learning environment to facilitate exceptional learning outcomes. The Foundation is aligned with the School’s Master Plan and contributes to the development of educational facilities and capital resources.
The Scholarship & Bursaries Fund plays an important role in fostering a culture that celebrates and values achievement, diversity and the pursuit of personal excellence. A number of scholarships are awarded each year to students who might not normally be able to access a Somerville House education. The Foundation plays an important role by assisting students experiencing financial hardship through the provision of bursaries.
The Cultural Fund supports the development and delivery of the School's literary, visual and performing arts, music, craft and design programs to Somerville House students and the wider community. Donations made via the Cultural Fund are tax deductible.
Consider becoming a member of the Fewings Fellowship, a Society established to honour bequestors to the School. The Somerville House Foundation Endowment Fund was established to support the School, its future operations and to provide for the future of Somerville House through economic and government downturns.
