The Cotton and Seymour Libraries are currently participating in the Great Book Swap, and are seeking donations for their own Big Book Swap on Tuesday 18 June. Hosted in the Seymour Library, students and staff can purchase donated books for a gold coin, with all proceeds of the event going toward supporting the work of the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.

With the 2019 Year 12 cohort among the last students in Queensland to undertake the Queensland Core Skills Test (QCS), Somerville House has implemented new initiatives and ongoing strategies to optimise student outcomes in preparation for the final test.
With a specific focus on the Middle School, the School has recently appointed four Middle School Curriculum Co-ordinators in key learning areas, and an Assistant Dean of Literacy, Learning and Development. These key staff members work behind the scenes tailoring and revising educational programs to support individual student needs.
Forty-three students from the class of 2018 were welcomed back to Somerville House for the annual Scholars Assembly to celebrate their high academic performance.
