Building & Restoring Incredible Facilities
The Foundation partners with the School to deliver projects and programs that have a lasting impact on educational opportunities offered to Somerville House students. Under the School’s funding model, school fees and government support only contribute to operating costs. The capacity of our school to grow and offer students access to new resources, facilities and programs depends upon the generosity of our community. Since 1984, the Foundation has raised more than $15 million, contributing over $7.5 million to the School, with funds invested so the income supports the School’s strategies objectives. Gifts to the Building Fund support ongoing campus development through financial contributions to capital projects which align with the School’s Master Plan. The 2020 Master Plan will reinforce Somerville House as a leading girls' school with first class facilities, focused on contemporary teaching and learning environments in the decades ahead. BSPN Architecture were selected as the preferred designer and commissioned to prepare a Campus Master Plan for the entire site at South Brisbane with Stage 1 having commenced in November 2021.
Heritage Heart Restorations
Specific details of the Heritage Heart restoration, encompassing A Block, Cumbooquepa, the Chapel and Chambers, can be found here. Our renewal project will feature state-of-the-art teaching spaces and facilities to serve us well into the future.
Senior Precinct
The Senior Precinct building will enhance the current educational curriculum for English, Maths and Languages by providing state-of-the-art teaching spaces. This project will reflect a contemporary world-leading teaching and learning environment for staff and Senior School students. It is especially exciting to create much needed specialist teaching spaces for STEAM and the Art Precinct, along with new Drama studios.

'SomerFields' - Dunn Road Sports
Fondly referred to as SomerFields. Spread over 15.4 hectares of land, just 10.2 km from the School, with plans in place to build world class sporting and recreational facilities to benefit every student. Multipurpose facilities will provide a hub for support groups and clubs to host co-curricular events, meetings and functions.
