Somerville House has achieved strong academic achievements with the release of ATAR results, and the 2020 Senior cohort have maintained the School’s long-standing tradition of academic excellence:  

  • Adeleine Watson achieved the highest possible ATAR of 99.95. 
  • 10 students (8%) achieved an ATAR of 99 or above* 
  • 41 students (32%) achieved an ATAR of 95 or above*
  • 71 students (56%) achieved an ATAR of 90 or above*
  • The School’s median ATAR was 91.2*
  • Across four subjects, eight students received perfect scores of 100 out of 100
  • 100% of eligible students achieved the Queensland Certificate of Education for secondary graduation.

Principal, Mrs Kim Kiepe, commended the graduating class for their tenacity, determination and perseverance in what has been a unique and challenging year. 

“Every student made the most of the QCE preparation opportunities, giving their all in mock exams, subject tutorials and workshops,” Mrs Kiepe said. 

“These results reflect the talent and hard work of the 2020 cohort, professionalism and support of the teaching staff, and the encouragement and guidance of our Somerville House parents and extended family members,” she said. 

“My congratulations to Adeleine Watson who is one of 30 students across the State to achieve a 99.95 ATAR.”

ATAR results are only one indicator of academic success at Somerville House.  All students in the Class of 2020 attained a Queensland of Certificate of Education, and many students completed Diploma, Certificate III or Certificate IV course while at school.

“I also acknowledge the sixteen students who graduated with additional vocational certifications in Business, Music Industry, Fitness and Public Safety,” she said.  

“We are exceptionally proud of our students’ performance and congratulate the students, staff and parents on these impressive achievements.”  

* QTAC has released data for the 91.24% of Somerville House students who applied for tertiary entrance and have selected the option to share their information with the School.
