A media opportunity provided by Caltex and the Brisbane Lions to promote a new partnership with QGSSSA, saw three lucky Somerville House AFL players invited to meet members of the current Lions AFLW team. Somerville House Sports Co-Ordinator, Lucy Bellinger said the media opportunity “inspired our girls and really heightened the excitement of our players in the lead up to the start of the QGSSSA AFL fixtures”.
It comes as our Junior AFL (Years 7-9) prepare for the second week of fixtures, having begun training and prep in Week 8 of Term 3. Somerville House saw 88 students sign up for Junior AFL this season, a record number and double that of 2022!
We cannot wait to see what the season holds for our players.
