Somerville House was in the news last week following the PMSA announcement of Dr Sandra Hastie as the 13th Somerville House Principal.
Mrs Kim Kiepe, who announced in February 2023 she would be stepping down as Principal, was quick to extend a very warm welcome to Dr Hastie via the School newsletter, and said that should she be asked, she would be "extremely proud to confidently comment on the traits of a Somerville Girl as smart, tough, independent, confident and joyful, " as there were attributes of many students Mrs Kiepe had known throughout her Principalship.
Currently the Principal of Rangi Ruru Girls’ School, an Independent Presbyterian boarding and day girls’ school in New Zealand, Dr Hastie will commence her tenure as Principal in January of 2024.
