The Somerville House Foundation has supported campus development at the School since 1992.

World-class sporting hub

Somerville House has purchased land adjacent to Dunn Road and plans have been approved for the development of a sporting and recreational precinct, fondly referred to as SomerFields

Spread over 15.4 hectares of land, just 10.2 km from the School, with plans in place to build world class sporting and recreational facilities that will benefit every student. SomerFields, a state-of-the-art multi-million sporting precinct, would be a front runner in Queensland schools’ facilities.

Six ovals, ten multipurpose courts and a 400m, 8 lane grass track with areas for throws and jumps will be used for athletics, cricket, hockey, football, netball, softball, touch and tennis training and competition. A cross country course will be incorporated at a later stage.

SomerFields will lead the way for all girls’ schools, modelling extensive facilities for girls’ sport.

Multipurpose facilities will provide a hub for support groups and clubs to host co-curricular events, meetings and functions. The land is to be developed in planned stages in the coming years.
