Congratulations to Somerville House teaching staff, Kathryn Kolb (Teacher-English) and Esther Harrison (Teacher- Year 4) who recently received Independent Schools Queensland (ISQ) Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher (HALT) certifications at a presentation ceremony held at Customs House.
HALT Certification is a process whereby experienced classroom teachers in Queensland schools voluntarily pursue national Certification to demonstrate their teaching skills and abilities at the higher career stages of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (APST). Teachers applying for certification undergo a rigorous evaluation process that involves gathering evidence of their teaching practices, classroom observations and peer and student reviews.
