Somerville House Awards for Old Girls
In 2022, Somerville House proudly acknowledges the 121st year anniversary of the Old Girls’ Association! The OGA birthday lunch will be held the day after Commemoration Day in the Honour Room on Saturday 8 October. Our OGA welcome old girls, along with past and present staff and anyone who feels part of the Somerville House community. I look forward to attending and celebrating our old girl community and current parents, (many of whom attended Somerville House).
The Somerville House Old Girls’ Association provides communication between past and present students and other stakeholder groups. The OGA also promotes social interaction between Old Girls, as well as promoting an ongoing interest in the life, activities and progress of Somerville House. We are indeed fortunate to be supported by an old girl community who are actively involved in mentoring, socialising and supporting the School in a myriad of ways.
Perhaps you know of an inspiring Old Girl? Nominations are now open for the annual Somerville House Awards for Old Girls. These awards are an opportunity for the School to celebrate and acknowledge our Old Girls' excellence.
We recognise our past students who have achieved outstanding success in one of the following areas of service:
- Service to their profession
- Service to the community
- Service to Somerville House
Old Girls can apply for one of two categories:
- Old Girl of the Year Award
- Young Old Girl of the Year Award
Nominations close on Monday 27 June at 5.00pm.

Formal recognition of these Old Girls will occur at the Commemoration Day assembly, celebrated this year on Friday 7 October. We look forward to recognising the award recipients on Commemoration Day and presenting the awards on Thursday 13 October at Speech Night.

We wish Mrs Alana Murray (Science Teacher) and Mrs Trish Taylor (Finance Team) an enjoyable week, before they leave Somerville House on Friday (27 May).
