Following Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk’s announcement notifying the formal start date for school students has been delayed, we have considered the health of our students and staff, in conjunction with our intent to optimise learning time and implement an educational approach that is both flexible and agile, without losing valuable teaching time. Therefore, we would not anticipate a need to extend the Term 4 finish date at the end of the year.

Until on-campus learning resumes, we will implement Somerville@HOME — our off-campus, blended learning approach that is designed to support the girls to work effectively at home in an independent learning mode. We are also aware of the importance of health and wellbeing, and so the academic program is interspersed with physical activity tasks and mindfulness breaks.

Years 11 and 12 students will commence Somerville@HOME on Monday 24 January.

Years 7 to 10 students will commence Somerville@HOME on Thursday 27 January.

Week 2 (Monday 31 January to Friday 4 February) — Teaching and learning via Somerville@HOME. Junior School students will use Home Activity Packs.

Week 3 (Monday 7 February) — All students will return to campus (provided it is safe to do so).

We ask that parents, staff and students visit SomerLink for important and detailed information regarding the Junior and Senior School arrangements for the commencement of the 2022 academic year.
