Thank you to all those who joined us for the Ladies’ Long Lunch, making this inaugural event such a huge success! Through the generosity of those who attended, as well as others in our School community, over $30,000 was raised through Live Auction, Silent Auction and Raffles to contribute to the Somerville House Foundation Scholarship fund. These funds will directly contribute to empowering outstanding young women of academic, sporting or artistic talent who otherwise could not attend Somerville House.
Over 140 mothers past and present, Old Girls, and friends of the Somerville House community came together on Friday 14 July at the stylish riverside restaurant, Blackbird, to enjoy an afternoon of fine dining, inspiring speakers, networking and fundraising.
The ladies enjoyed informative and inspiring speeches from Leslie Chong, Chief Executive Officer of Biopharmaceutical company Imugene, and Author and Columnist Rebecca Sparrow.
The event would not have been possible without the support of our Somerville House community and generous sponsors. We would like to take the opportunity to once again acknowledge and recognise their valuable contributions. Special thanks to our Naming Rights Sponsors Audi Centre Brisbane and Gold Sponsors White Glove Concierge Services and Trinity Beach Palace.
Due to the popularity of the Ladies’ Long Lunch and the positive feedback from attendees, this event has now cemented its annual position in the Somerville House Foundation’s calendar. Dates for the 2018 event will be released later this year.
Once again, we extend our heartfelt thanks to our guests, sponsors and broader School community for their overwhelming support of this event for an extremely worthwhile cause.
