Our Scholarship program provides opportunities for exceptional students who demonstrate academic excellence and uphold the School’s values. Each year, a limited number of scholarships are awarded based on merit and/or equity (including hardship) to Australian students (citizens or residents). Eligible students may apply for multiple scholarships, but only one can be awarded per student.

Thanks to the generous support of the School and Somerville House Foundation benefactors, we offer both full and partial scholarships. Scholarships are tenable for the duration of the student’s education at Somerville House, subject to satisfactory academic performance and contribution to School life.

All applicants must complete the ACER Academic Scholarship Test.

Somerville House awards Academic Scholarships to students entering from Year 7 onwards, based on their scholarship application, supporting documents, and performance in the ACER Academic Scholarship Test.

Boarding Scholarships are available for girls from regional or rural Queensland entering Years 7 or 8 as new boarders. Selection is based on academic achievement in the ACER Academic Scholarship Test.

The Somerville House Foundation supports access to a Somerville House education through a range of full and partial scholarships for Australian students.

These scholarships recognise academic merit and potential while also providing support to families who may not otherwise be able to access the opportunities offered by a Somerville House education.

Available to both Day and Boarding students across the secondary years, Foundation scholarships exist thanks to the generosity of our community, with families, both past and present, providing philanthropic support that enables students to access this education. We are deeply grateful to our Foundation Members and supporters whose gifts continue to make a lasting difference for students today and into the future.
