The Seymour Library, named to honour former Principal, Reverend Sam Seymour, serves the Middle and Senior School.
The Seymour Library provides a friendly and stimulating environment for learning, research and reading and has a large collection of print and online resources, including full-text databases. New texts are constantly being added to our collection and promotions such as Book Week are celebrated throughout the year.
The Seymour Library staff love to promote lifelong learning. To encourage this, the ‘Fiction Room’ is equipped with bean bags and comfy chairs to provide an environment for students to get lost in a book, and enjoy reading for learning and for pleasure.
Our Library staff aim to provide a positive and productive experience for our students and staff, whether this includes research, finding a great book, or a quiet space to read.
Library opening hours during term time are Monday to Friday 7.30am to 4.45pm.
A range of electronic resources are available for students and staff through MySomerville, the Somerville House Intranet.
As part of the eLearning system, Seymour Library provides assignment assistance and information through:
